20-Apr-07: The Virginia Tech massacre...
... could have played out very differently. Instead of disarming the population and leaving it at the mercy of criminals, repeal gun control legislation preventing the law-abiding from properly defending themselves against criminals. If those students would have been allowed to carry their firearms concealed and only a fraction of them did so on that particular day, I suspect the lone gunman would've either aborted his plans (knowing it wouldn't have been perfectly safe for him to proceed as planned) or faced well-armed opposition.
I invite you to peruse the following websites for more information on the benefits of an armed population:
http://www.totse.com/en/politics/right_to_keep_and_bear_arms/gunposit.html
Remember: a gun in the hand is more valuable than a police officer on the telephone. You are entirely within your rights to choose the latter, but don't presume to know what's best for those of us who wish to be responsible for our own safety. Gun control is a failure and a dangerous idea... however well-meaning the intentions may have been for its creation.
01-Apr-07: Doce horas

Twelve hours (translation)
Twelve hours coming away each other, brandishing a sip of tea on the sluggish lacuna of its glances.
A passage, near a metallic oboe, blames over the mats resting on a green stove. Ferns?
Twelve hours riding, looking for the thunder, across hollows linking the nothingness with the truth, the verb and the steps escaping from a tale.
The serene death slowly dies in the arms of life. A crazy comes crazy and sense returns. The atoms descent to the hades that inflames the hearts. Magnets falling across a centipede. No vessels to escape from.
The escape escapes from the silence, while the centres target the darts. The pain complains the hurting pain of the pleasure.
Cards, only cards, playing cards between players seeming not to be. The easy die casting expensive fortune. Face reflexing itself, escaping. No Narcissus.
A rapture waving silver fans. Neons roaring in dead silence. Practical jokes beat inside the lonely sea of a severe being. The sweet sugar looks for a sweet taste that sweets its bitter life.
The silence deafens the world.

23-Mar-07: Poem "Belching Rules"
Belching Rules
Belching is permitted under certain circumstances...
Actually under most circumstances...
In this house...
And for almost any reason...
Permission need not be obtained first...
However...
If the volume of any particular belch...
Is so loud...
That it might injure anothers eardrum...
Then either redirect the belch...
Or at least tone it down...
No stomach material is to be expelled...
During a belch or series of belches...
Unless you are doing it outdoors...
Sissy belches or beginner belches...
As they are sometimes known...
Are permitted if you are not afraid...
To suffer embarrassment...
And maybe a few well deserved...
Degrading remarks...
Clapping and highfives are...
Encouraged for superior efforts...
And as always...
Please do not belch in the presence of a Lady...

23-Mar-07: About Cerebrals Society
Cerebrals Society is an international non-profit organization for people whose cognitive abilities have been assessed at or above 141 (SD15) on psychometric scales. This means that membership is opened for the top 0.3% of people along the Wechsler's IQ spectrum. For comparison, the high-giftedness commonly accepted cut-off is the top 2% or an IQ of 130 (SD15).
Cerebrals was founded in December 1999 by Xavier Jouve. Over time the society has evolved into a growing organization which keeps providing its members with intellectual peerage and a chance to meet across distances thus reducing the sense of isolation (not at all physical) often present in varying degrees in highly gifted people.

The blogging technology holds great promise for a different kind of communication. It allows for a sort of column-like diary (or diary-like column) and cuts back on conflicts and repetitions that plagued many community forums.
Since blog postings are rarer than numerous forum postings, they stimulate more depth and will most likely attract a huge readership from among the general public since Cerebrals members and their thoughts by their highly gifted nature hold potential to attract.
Cerebrals Blog entire will be traceable by category to which they belong as well as by the author or time of posting, so it gives you a chance to start a real multi-topic column of your own for a potentially huge readership and from the position of a Cerebrals member.
Blog also represents a kind of self-editing online journal, which can easily take place of a long overdue COJ. In many ways, Cerebrals Blog can launch Cerebrals into a new phase of its existence.
